The final mission
« on: 13:12, Tuesday 26 Mar, 2013. »
The final two sessions of the Sabbat-gone-Anarch game saw the group address the problem of a group of vampires established in a native community in a compound of lodges. The group had determined that they were Ravnos, and Baron Whittaker requested they remove the vampires quietly.

Bruce syphoned fuel from the sites generator, Reverend Thompson cut off the nearest public phone, and Ping-Pong fed the guard dogs sausages laced with sedatives. Thompson’s ghoul Cole watched the compound though a sniper scope, ready to provide backup. Thompson, Phil, Grayson and Leonora entered the site and headed for the locations that the girl Jezebel had noted that the ‘elders’ were most frequently found.

But Ping-Pong had decided that this was a good opportunity for some light-hearted mischief. Four of the dogs received amphetamines, and he instructed them to attack Bruce. Bruce was chased to the compounds edge, and used movement of the mind to levitate out of reach. He then tried to land in a tree, but entirely misjudged the strength of his chosen branch and fell 15 feet to the ground. Two of the dogs were then upon him. Bruce decided that to set fire to the generators oil would scare them away. He used lure of flames…

Meanwhile, Thompson and co. reached their first target location. As they approached, something crept up on them from behind. You see, Ping-Pongs prank had also involved sending ghouled kangaroos into the site to hunt for Thomspon (he has a problem with authority figures). They were strangled with obtenebrous tentacles, but not before being noticed by those in the surrounding lodges. The electricity cut out. Two men jumped out of a lodge – one had his chest smashed open by Phil’s fire axe, and another was slashed open by Grayson before fed on by Thompson. A third individual – Mayrah, the communities leader – emerged last, followed by the eerie call of the Howlers. But she took a shot to the head from Cole. This left her with a shattered skull, and Grayson easily finished the elder.

The group dashed towards the Mia Mia clearing, to find the remaining vampires. Leonora got left behind in the haste, and struggled to recall the route as she navigated the spaces between the lodges blindly. The rest were head off at the entrance to the clearing by a group of 11 young men armed with primitive weapons, who were not swayed by intimidation or dominate. And then… stuff happened.

Coloured smoke from flares filled the Mia Mia clearing. If Cole had been a little more worldly, he may have realised that they were arranged to loosely resemble the North Korean flag. Then, a flash-bang went off, followed swiftly by an explosion as the fuel in and around the generator caught light (/subterfuge). All had felt their ears pop, whilst Leonora, who was using auspex and had sensitive hearing, was deafened (and would remain so for 90 minutes). Through the ringing in their ears, they could make out the sound of K-pop. Grayson slashed at one of their assaulters, but they were insubstantial. The human wall vanished, being a construct of Chimerstry, and behind the vampires appeared the North Korean dressed in red, white and blue. It was Ping-Pong, dressed as North Koreas very own version of Captain America, with a utility belt and a super-soaker with a back pack.

Ping-Pong engaged celerity and rushed to the main Mia Mia. He turned inside, seeing vampires and ghouls chanting within, and the ground beneath the totem rumbling with movement. Ping-Pong threw a flash bang inside, disrupting their ceremony. Thompson saw the totem - a lizard and a predatory mammal twisting around themselves. He toppled it with his obtenebrous tentacles. Ping-Pong then pointed his super-soaker and sprayed them all with his secret weapon – rum – before cheesing it. Next, Grayson lit her zippo and threw it towards the snarling vampires and enraged ghouls. All ran as the highly flammable Mia Mia was quickly consumed with flames. Of all the screams, one rose louder and shriller and more inhuman beneath the others. Unbeknownst to the party, they had eliminated the Ravnos methuselah who slumbered beneath the totem – a being known as Emilian, stirring at the disturbance, and a potent being in Chimerstry. But even his fortitude could not protect him from the raging inferno.

Bruce’s generator fire had quickly spread to the highly-flammable native trees, so he fled. Leonora was attacked by someone with a club, but a fierce glare and use of Presence made her assaulter flee. She escaped the burning compound by appealing to the residents using presence. All escaped, fleeing in vehicles as police cars and fire engines rushed in the opposite direction. Grayson and Thompson intermittently received abusive phone calls from Leonora for deafening her, which only ceased when it began to return.

They reported to Whittaker the next night. Leonora opened the proceedings by finding out that Ping-Pong had used the flash-bangs and taking a swing at him with a wooden bat. Anders ‘the sheriff’ firmly led her out. The Baron was not impressed with the groups conduct, and was particularly disappointed with Bruce, who was his childe. But they were given credit for at least getting rid of the Ravnos. They would be keeping an eye out for any Ravnos escapees, and the group would be expected to help in the clean-up. Until then, the Baron (who is a Tremere) will be keeping a sample of the ex-Sabbat members’ blood.

So guys, that’s a brief-ish synopsis! If I left anything out (not unlikely, and I apologise if so), just add it below! Funnily enough, Ping-Pong's shinanegans disrupted some delicate chimerstry summonings as well as the concentration of the awakening elder Emilian, which would have caused you a world of trouble, and a ghoul stole the limelight by shooting the face off Mayrah, his childe :D Let me know if there’s anything in particular that may be pertinent to an epilogue, and I will write a little one up! We can discuss it on Monday 8th April if you like – Dan and I were thinking that if any of you fancy joining us for card or board gaming at the pub for the evening we can do it then :D
